Atlanta Motorsports Park x Macallan Construction

After months of training, planning, and sharpening our skills, it was time to put the brakes on work and hit the gas.

Our team recently spent the day at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, putting our racing skills to the test and enjoying some well-earned time together off the jobsite.

A big thank you to Atlanta Motorsports Park for hosting our crew and providing an unforgettable experience. We had a blast!

🏗️ What attracted you to construction?

Construction was familiar to me growing up because of my dad, who was a residential general contractor in the Atlanta area, but I stayed in the industry because I enjoy the constant learning, fast-paced problem solving, and the challenge of keeping projects moving forward with both the field teams and ownership groups.

🦺 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?

Be humble enough to learn from everyone around you, but confident enough to contribute your own ideas and ask questions. Construction is an industry where experience matters, and some of the best lessons come from spending time in the field and building relationships with superintendents and subcontractors. The more time you spend understanding how work is actually built, the stronger you’ll become professionally.

🚧 Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!

Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my three kids. When I get a little downtime, I also enjoy baking.

Macallan University | May 2026

Another Macallan University in the books, and this one delivered! Our team spent a full day diving into Project Management Excellence, blending technical training with leadership development and real world insight. It’s all part of our commitment to building better projects, stronger teams, and lasting partnerships.

Thank you to @James Albright (City of Acworth, Georgia) for sharing practical strategies on leading productive, professional meetings, insights our teams can put to work immediately.

We also appreciated the candid perspective from our architect panel, @Greg O’Neal (Kuo Diedrich Chi Architects), @Jonathan Fallin (CDH Partners, Inc.), and @Oscar Herrera (CROFT & Associates). Their feedback on collaboration, communication, and what makes a great GC partner made the conversation especially impactful.

And a BIG thank you to Lanier HVAC Services for sponsoring our team's lunch. We truly value their continued partnership on our projects.

At Macallan Construction, we believe continuous improvement, technical excellence, and strong relationships drive long term success.

🏗️ What attracted you to construction?

The thing that attracted me to construction was that my dad and grandfather have both been in construction their entire careers. As well as, I have always liked the atmosphere of watching the building process from dirt into a building.

🦺 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?

The construction industry is not always a job that allows you to stay home. If you’re going to join the industry, you need to start out with the ability to relocate or travel, especially for someone in their 20’s like me. It makes the work more fun, and the possibilities of seeing some beautiful places a little easier.

🚧 Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!

A fun fact is that I built my first computer when I was 16, and I can do a Rubik’s Cube in 1 minute and 30 seconds.

FPC Buford Groundbreaking Ceremony

Macallan University | April 2026

This month at Macallan University, we focused on sharpening one of the most essential skills in our industry: negotiation.

We kicked off the day with a panel featuring the owners of The Macallan Group, who shared the story behind Macallan, the roots that shaped who we are today, and how negotiation has played a role in that journey from the very beginning. Thank you to Mike, Dean, and Jay for taking the time to share the groundwork our company was built on.

We then welcomed Patrick Griffin from TableForce for an engaging session on the principles of negotiation, complete with real-world exercises that challenged and strengthened our team’s approach.

A special thank you to Manhattan Construction Group, Thirdline Construction, and Loudermilk Homes for joining our team for the training. Investing in our people means investing in better outcomes for our clients, our partners, and each other.

Architecture Week 2026

Architecture Week 2026 is the perfect time to celebrate the visionaries behind the spaces we build! This week, we’re spotlighting some of the incredible architects we’ve partnered with on city halls, libraries, civic spaces, clubs, and communities—firms like CROFT Architecture and Engineering, Kuo Diedrich Chi Architects, and Architectural Collaborative.

Together, we’re transforming places where people work, gather, and connect, and we’re grateful for the creativity and collaboration that make these projects possible.
