While most of the Highlands was still sleeping, our team was already hard at work! We kicked off this concrete pour at 4:00 a.m. alongside Hemma Concrete. Thanks to their crew for helping make the pour a success and keeping the Highlands House project moving forward!
It’s been a great week getting out in the community!
We kicked things off at the Cobb Chamber Reed Leeper Classic golf tournament, welcomed our friends from LS3P to join us at the Atlanta Police Foundation's Crime is Toast awards breakfast honoring the men and women who work tirelessly to make our city safer, and wrapped things up at Kennesaw State University, where we had the chance to meet some of the future leaders of our industry.
A full week of connecting, supporting our community, and meeting some great people along the way!
This Wednesday, we’re heading to KSU! Join Macallan Construction at the @kennesawstateuniversity Career Fair on September 30 to meet our team and learn more about building a career with us. We hope to see you there!
Good food, great company and an afternoon spent celebrating the people who help bring our projects to life! We enjoyed hosting our Trade Contractor Appreciation Party with BBQ, cornhole, raffle prizes and time to connect outside of the jobsite. It's Feature Friday! Get to know a little more about our Business Integrator, Michelle!
🏗️ What attracted you to construction? I originally went to school to study Environmental Engineering because I was inspired by the lack of sustainable resource use in Puerto Rico. But when I had to take Calc 2, I realized I was more interested in the people side of things and switched my major to International Affairs. Fast forward into my career, I never lost sight of wanting to improve spaces and things. I'm constantly redecorating my home, and HGTV and Magnolia Network are always on in my house because I'm fascinated by how a space can be transformed. So when a friend referred me to a role at a construction company, it was an obvious yes because I got to be in the business of seeing visions come to life while working with people.
🦺 What advice would you give someone who wanted to enter the construction field? It all starts with the people you know. It doesn't matter if you studied construction or not, if you want to get into the field, start with the people around you and go from there. Relationships open doors that a resume alone can't.
🚧 Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself! I’m a first generation “Cuba Rican” from Puerto Rico and I call it home. I want my son to know the island, so I love dancing salsa or merengue with him in our living room.

More than bricks and sticks! It was a summer of learning, growth, and hands-on experience! 👷♂️ 🏗️ Last week, our construction interns, Chase and Sam, shared highlights from their summer with the entire Macallan Construction team.
They reflected on their responsibilities, lessons learned in the field, relationships built, and how the experience helped them grow both personally and professionally. We’re proud of everything they accomplished and grateful for the energy, curiosity, and hard work they brought to Macallan this summer.

We’re excited to welcome Greg Gentry to Macallan Construction as our new Director of Preconstruction!
Greg brings more than 17 years of experience in estimating, budgeting, and project planning. Known for his thoughtful approach and strong industry relationships, he will lead our estimating team and guide clients from early concepts through contract, building clarity, confidence, and value along the way. Making progress from the ground up! Our team is completing extensive sitework for Stonemont Financial Group, including grading, stormwater infrastructure, and paving to create a durable, functional parking area. Thank you to Redland Grading Co Inc for helping keep the project moving forward!
For July's Macallan University, our team stepped out to one of our active job sites for a day focused on Safety, Schedule & Site Logistics.
Our team kicked things off with technical training from Outbuild, followed by Site Logistics Standards led by our own Tad Glasscock and James Jones. We wrapped up the day with Jobsite Safety Standards presented by Kate Badey and Chris Achenbach of Safety Consultants USA.
