PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Georgia State University’s Library North Addition and Renovation created a dramatic new entrance for the library after the demolition of North Plaza and Kell Hall. This new space allows movement between the new campus greenway and the entrance to Library North.

This project features a new 4,500-square-foot, three-story lobby that includes a monumental staircase and dual elevators providing vertical access to the second level of the original library. The exterior is clad in a glass curtain wall, inviting abundant natural light and offering panoramic views of the city. Complementing the original architecture, new limestone accents introduce an earthy tone that harmonizes with the existing design. Atop the structure, a rooftop terrace with pavers and landscaped areas creates an inviting, accessible outdoor space ideal for student study and relaxation.
